Calie has been feeling left out so I am posting a recent picture of her. She is our oldest kitty (7+) and can be very temperamental at times.

Hi Little Man. My sissy fur Calie is very happy that you think she is beautiful. I hope you are having a pawsome good day. I just heard that Bailey (SMC) will be having their 8th Birthday Party the evening of April 22 on Facebook. Everyone is invited and I am going to try to attend. I am hoping to see you there. I am enjoying the spring weather and now it is time for my afternoon snack. Sending you my love, purrs, paw waves and bonkies.

The greek root calli- (as in calligraphy) means beautiful. So a beautiful cat would be calliailuro or something like that.

Unfortunately, calico cats are not named for greek beauty, but because they resembled fabric that came from Calcutta, India.

We didn't have any orange on our farm, so the only « _____ -and-white » cats we had were black-and-white, grey-and-white, and the occasional tabby-and-white. I think there may have been some orange in the neighborhood, but no calicos.

The farm over the hill had an orange and white female kitty for a while. I know you usually went off in the other direction. Inky and I followed our human to the cabin one morning after he fed us; the orange cat lived on the other side of the road from the cabin.

Meowmy had a calico that lived to 20 years old, she was beautiful with long hair. Crossed the bridge in november 2010, so technically she was 20 and a half Big Smile I was brought home to keep that kitty company after her cockatiel buddy crossed the bridge, so I owe her a lot!
